AWARDS
Always a
day tinged with sadness as we realise another season has passed in the
blink of an eye ... but what a season, packed full of thrills and spills
and this year we have a fantasy football fix to get us through to the
start of the new season with a world cup fantasy league! (details TBA).
Anyway a number of results and awards get decided after the final day so
i'll do my best to run through as concisely as possible, also look out
at the bottom of this mail for the outstanding prizes to be delievered,
the Chairman apologises for some being so late but I promise you'll have
them before the World Cup starts!
MONTH 9
Not content
with just the intermediate playoff shield, Dean Wait doubled up on the
final day of the season leaving the Chairman in his wake and winning a
first ever monthly title! He headed the table for a long while in month
9 and a committed NDP manager for the last few seasons this is a well
deserved maiden title!
SEASON TABLE
What a
debut season, 2 monthly titles and he now adds the most coveted prize in
the NDP ... the season title! Stuart Lake has come in and taught the
old hands a thing or two, Mark Scott and Phil Grant put in great season
efforts but couldn't catch Stuart who spent over half the season leading
the way!
3 MONTH LEAGUE
No cash
prizes for this one, but a title that gets recorded for history
purposes nonetheless as it's generated by AOL and can be viewed through
a link at the bottom of our friends league. Month 9 turned this table
on it's head as the Chairman and Dean Wait both overtook long time
leader Stuart Lake and it was Dean with his monumental 214 points in
month 9 who clinched it!
MANAGER OF THE YEAR
NDP HQ have
decided without a shadow of a doubt that with 2 monthly titles and the
season title 2009/10 Manager of the year is Stuart Lake!
YOUNG MANAGER OF THE YEAR
Another NDP
HQ award which although termed young manager of the year is essentially
for the most successful "new" NDP manager in their first season ... and
yes you've guessed it, it can only go to one manager in an amazing first
season ... Stuart Lake!

PLAYOFF CHAMPIONS PHIL GRANT & DEAN WAIT
Well what an end of season
showpiece this season some hugely entertaining playoff match ups
which culminated in an absolute classic in the final ... let's start
with the intermediate shield for the positions 9 -16 qualifiers
where Dean Wait romped to victory by 51 points to 35 over the
Chairman in a match that once Burnley and Arsenal started scoring it
turned out to be a walk in the park for Dean. In the playoff trophy
final however it couldn't have been more tighter,
scoring was lower than the shield finalists no doubt caused by the
unbelievable tension of playing for such a huge prize and it was our
sponsor Phil Grant edging out defending playoff champion Alex Davey
by 28 points to 27!!
Huge congratulations to Phil and
Dean who walk off with these very special end of season titles, all
winners and runners up receive prizemoney for which the Chairman
will be in touch very soon.
Playoff
Trophy Final result, starting score end score in brackets:
Phil Grant (126,

Playoff Shield Final

06.04.2010 MONTH 8
WINNER IS ALEX DAVEY!!!
I have barely recovered from the mentally
draining month 8 contest but I am pleased to say (and i mean that!) that the
month 8 winner is that trophy magnet Mr Alex Davey!!!
A significant weekend of action with the title swinging in 3 directions, I
paid the price for a trip overseas expecting my players to perform without
me and I was badly let down ... the opportunity for back to back monthly
titles was there but my players cracked under the pressure and some cast
iron clean sheets were easily eroded ... so with the Chairman out the
picture it was nothing more than a victory precession for Alex??? but wait
!!! putting in a huge final weekend was Luke Holland ! Big midfield
performances from Young, Malouda, Kranjcar backed up by another clean sheet
from Sorenson put Luke ahead going into the final few games of the weekend!
Alex hit back with 2 Adam Johnson assists followed by a Steven Gerrard
strike on the Sunday to take the title with a record breaking score of 209
points! Second was Luke (207) in what will go down as an NDP epic !!!
30.03.2010 MONTH 8
UPDATE DAVEY LEADS INTO FINAL WEEK
This is it ... THIS REALLY IS IT ... NDP
drama at it's highest, we enter the final week with two greats going toe to
toe in search of the month 8 title !! Alex Davey leads with a massive 173
points 2 ahead of the Chairman (171) and the historical impact of wherever
the title goes is huge ... if Alex wins he takes a 7th monthly title
equalling the Chairmans record ... but if the Chairman wins then it will be
back to back monthly titles which has only been achieved once before by of
course Alex Davey! So the stakes are high for both of us, much banter has
been exchanged throughout the month and the tension, speaking on behalf of
both of us is unbearable ... but thats what we play the game for!!!
Now having built up this titanic two way title clash this it would be very
amiss of me not to mention the threat sitting back in third ... 3 time
monthly winner Luke Holland is only 10 points back (163) and will be looking
to spoil the party
11.03.2010 CHAIRMAN WINS MONTH 7
Month 7 has finally come to a close, with a
new monthly champion this season! Yes many congratulations to our Chairman
who led most of the way and finished victorious with 142 points which helps
him to push for the top 8 which he is striving for. "Unlucky Ronnie
Richmond" again, narrowly missing out on top spot finished 2nd with an
impressive 134 and Tony Gilbert on 132.
Steve Gray NDP Vice Chairman
01.03.2010 CHAIRMAN
LEADS INTO FINAL WEEK OF MONTH 7
Tough weekend ! But the Chairman is still out in front and
extends his lead slightly moving onto 134 points thanks to a
brace from Frank Lampard, still second is Ronnie Richmond
looking dangerous on 120 but in third and it's obviously a month
for the establishment is Vice Chairman Mr Steve Gray after a
shrewd Carlos Tevez transfer!
22.02.2010 MONTH 7
UPDATE
What a great weekend of action and im very pleased to say the
Chairman leads the NDP in month 7!!! In a desperate bid to avoid
failing to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in my
career the players are pulling out all the stops for me to get
themselves on the scoresheet .... so it's the Chairman leads
with 83 pts, followed in 2nd by Ronnie Richmond (77) and third
is that NDP heavyweight Luke Holland (61) !
The
action rolls on with a solitary midweek fixture (Man Utd v West
Ham) and a nearly full set of weekend fixtures minus Aston Villa
and Man United who are playing the Carling Cup final .... so
plenty of opportunity for you to put pressure on my players!
08.02.2010 DALE OWEN
WINS MONTH 6!!!
I
thought he would be distracted by his passion for sheep, but no in
what proved to be an long running and gruelling month 6 it is our
international manager Dale Owen who triumphs and claims his very
first monthly title by quite some distance!!! Oliver Laity was
leading into the final weekend and whilst his team played steady
they finished on 181 points which pushed them back to 4th on goal
difference from a resurgent Dean Wait in 3rd and also on 181 points
in runners up spot our season table leader Stuart Lake who adds
another £3 to his impressive money list total ! But taking the
winners cheque with a massive 196 points is Dale, a shrewd Didier
Drogba transfer and some heroic defensive displays, namely Mark
Schwarzers double clean sheet in the final week took Dale beyond the
chasing pack !!
So a
proud moment in the Owen household, but someone even more pleased
than Dale himself is Alex Davey!!! Why? Well in keeping Stuart Lake
back in second Dale has helped Alex protect his record as the only
manager to win back to back titles!
